WHAT IS THE FORMAT?
Each day at Mt Zion 2027 will centre around our theme, "What the Sabbath Means to Us." Through morning studies and discussion groups, we will explore the Sabbath's place in God's purpose—from creation, through Israel's history, to its fulfilment in Christ and the rest that awaits God's people in the Kingdom. Afternoons provide opportunities to enjoy everything Whatshan Lake Retreat has to offer. Whether participating in activities, sports, outdoor hikes, tournaments, or simply relaxing by the lake and spending time with friends, there will be plenty of opportunities for fellowship, fun, and making lasting memories. After dinner, the conference continues with a variety of evening programs designed to encourage both spiritual growth and connection. These may include Bible-based talks, discussion sessions, special events, campfires, and other activities that bring the conference community together in a relaxed and enjoyable setting.
WHAT WILL WE BE STUDYING?
The Sabbath is one of the most recognizable themes in Scripture, yet it is often one of the least understood. Introduced at creation and woven throughout God's dealings with His people, the Sabbath points to far more than a weekly day of rest. It reveals God's character, His purpose with humanity, and His promise of a future age of peace and restoration. Throughout the week, we will explore what the Sabbath meant to Israel, how it was understood and fulfilled by the Lord Jesus Christ, and what its principles mean for us today. Together we will consider themes of rest, trust, worship, freedom, and dependence on God, examining how these lessons can shape our daily lives as disciples in a busy and demanding world. As we trace this theme through Scripture, we will see that the Sabbath is not merely about ceasing from work, but about learning to rest in God, prioritising the things that matter most, and looking forward to the time when the whole earth will enjoy His perfect peace and blessing in the Kingdom to come.
WHO WILL BE ATTENDING?
We are aiming to welcome up to 130 Christadelphian young adults from around the world to Mt Zion 2027. To attend, participants must be between 20 and 35 years of age by the start of the conference. Study notes and resources will be provided throughout the week to support both the talks and discussion groups. All attendees are expected to be present for the full duration of the conference. We encourage everyone to participate in the studies, activities, and evening programs, as full involvement helps create the unique atmosphere of fellowship, learning, and friendship that Mt Zion is known for. Married couples (without children) are welcome to attend. Accommodation arrangements for couples may differ from those of single attendees, and further details will be provided closer to the conference. Our aim is for all single attendees to be accommodated on site at Whatshan Lake Retreat. If you have any questions regarding registration, accommodation, or attendance requirements, please don't hesitate to contact the committee through the contact form.
